SBI engages the incubatees in innovative and creative activities that promote the culture of sound entrepreneurship, peer collaboration, business development support and mentorship while leveraging on the use of IT with free internet service in solving modern entrepreneurship-related challenges.
Our co-working spaces, free consultation services, linkages to funding for business start ups and continuous business mentorship, help the youth identify, develop and run profitable businesses in Mogadishu.
We provide a platform through which new business startups and existing businesses get help in establishing and developing their enterprises. Our innovative business support enables them to overcome the obstacles that hinder the establishment of businesses as well as providing an environment for inculcating innovative approaches to business development.
Our platform also serves as a springboard for new ideas and innovation thus helping the society to face the challenges and meet the rising aspirations of the growing youth population.
We offer Business Support Services to our incubatees to enable them develop and run a successful businesses. The support provided enables them to develop businesses from ideation and full implementation process. Our services include holding drop-in sessions; mentoring and advising incubatees on matters of business development; link up the trainees with industry experts and general legal services. Others include helping the businesses with regulatory compliances, linkages to capital funding (through loans, grants and angel investors). SBI also provides co-working space and other operating resources such as computers and internet to enable the incubatees conduct research and peer to peer collaboration.
Our team at SBI prepares youth for employment by teaching them several skills that improve their employment potential. Beneficiaries learn job hunting skills, interview skills and become confident in their areas of profession. Such services include; training in writing CV and cover letter, preparing for interview and targeted job search. Other forms of support include creating tech based business and freelancing enterprises, job placement and internships and organizing Mogadishu job fair where they interact with potential employers and clients.
Capacity Building is a process by which individuals and groups obtain, improve, and retain the skills, knowledge, and other resources needed to do their jobs (businesses) competently. On individual level, SBI focuses on development of conditions that allow individual participants (beneficiaries) to build and enhance knowledge and skills to engage in the "process of learning and adapting to change”. We offer several capacity building to beneficiaries in several thematic areas such as; financial literacy, marketing, book keeping & Accountancy, sales and marketing, logistics, business plan development among others.
Sanqaaad Business Innovation provides a networking platform for the beneficiaries to exchange ideas and challenges and help them gain new insights that are vital for the growth of their entrepreneurial ideas. SBI engages the incubatees regularly and finds opportunities to strengthen their relationship with potential customers / target market. Networking increases the individual’s knowledge base therefore aiding in making their business ideas realistic and profitable. They also get a chance of interacting with various experts who motivate, mentor and encourage them in their pursuit of success. Networking also provides them a chance to learn new things, have a different mindset and develop analytic skills. Examples of networking activities include; Meet-ups with Hackathons, Office Hours, Webinars, and luncheons among others.
